Evil Men and Seducers Shall Wax Worse and Worse

Written by Ralph Mark B. Malinao

“Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”
— 2 Timothy 3:13 (KJV)

Have you ever wondered why the world seems to be getting darker?

Why deception is everywhere?

Why false teachers continue to multiply?

Paul told us this would happen.

He didn’t predict that the world would gradually become more righteous.

He warned:

“Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”

That is exactly what we are witnessing today.

▪️THIS SHOULD NOT SURPRISE US

Many believers expect the world to improve through human effort or religious reform.

But Paul paints a different picture.

Deception will increase.

False doctrine will spread.

Many who deceive others are themselves deceived.

This is not evidence that God has lost control.

It is evidence that God’s Word is true.

▪️PROPHECY VS MYSTERY

Some wonder,

“If evil is increasing, why doesn’t God judge it now?”

Rightly dividing the Word gives the answer.

God’s prophetic program for Israel included a future day of judgment and the establishment of Christ’s earthly kingdom.

But today God is carrying out the Dispensation of Grace.

Instead of pouring out His wrath, He is extending His mercy.

Paul writes:

“For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office.”
Romans 11:13 (KJV)

Through Paul’s ministry, the risen Christ revealed His present purpose for the Body of Christ—a message of reconciliation before coming judgment.

▪️ISRAEL VS THE BODY OF CHRIST

Israel looked for the promised earthly kingdom.

The Body of Christ has a heavenly calling.

Our commission is not to establish the kingdom on earth today.

Our commission is to proclaim the Gospel of Grace while God is still extending His longsuffering.

That is why increasing wickedness should not discourage us.

It should remind us that the time to preach the gospel is now.

▪️LAW VS GRACE

The answer to a sinful world is not placing people under the Law.

The Law exposes sin.

Grace provides the remedy.

The grace of God offers forgiveness, reconciliation, and eternal life through Christ.

Only the Gospel has the power to transform hearts.

▪️THE GOSPEL FOR TODAY

Paul declared the message that saves:

“How that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
1 Corinthians 15:3–4 (KJV)

That is the Gospel for this present Dispensation of Grace.

Not religious works.

Not human reform.

Not self-improvement.

Christ crucified.

Christ buried.

Christ risen.

Believe Him, and you are saved by grace through faith.

▪️DON’T BE DECEIVED

As deception increases, believers must remain grounded in God’s Word.

• Don’t measure truth by popularity.

• Don’t measure truth by emotions.

• Don’t measure truth by miracles or personalities.

Measure everything by the rightly divided Word of God.

As Paul wrote:

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God… rightly dividing the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

▪️THE BLESSED CONCLUSION

The increase of evil should not produce fear.

It should produce faith.

God told us this would happen.

His plan has not failed.

His grace is still being offered.

His Gospel is still “the power of God unto salvation.”

When we rightly divide:

• Israel and the Body of Christ.

• Law and Grace.

• Prophecy and Mystery.

We understand why evil is increasing and why God has not yet judged the world.

Today is still the day of grace.

Tomorrow may bring judgment.

So while evil men and seducers grow worse and worse…

Let us be faithful ambassadors of the Gospel of the Grace of God.
