God Is Not Asking You to Try Harder

Written by Ralph Mark B. Malinao

Maybe you’ve been there…

Trying to be better.
Trying to do right.
Trying to fix yourself.

Trying… and failing.

And somewhere along the way,
you got tired of it all—

Tired of religion.
Tired of pressure.
Tired of never feeling “enough.”

But what if the problem was never you not trying hard enough?

What if the problem was trying at all?

▪️GOD NEVER ASKED YOU TO SAVE YOURSELF

Religion says:

• Do more
• Be better
• Try harder

But the Bible says:

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done,
but according to his mercy he saved us…”
(Titus 3:5 KJV)

God is not asking for your effort.

He is offering you His grace.

▪️CHRIST DID WHAT YOU COULD NOT DO

You don’t need to improve yourself to come to God.

Because Jesus Christ already did the work:

• He died for your sins
• He was buried
• He rose again

“Christ died for our sins…”
(1 Corinthians 15:3 KJV)

That’s not something you add to.

That’s something you believe.

▪️THIS IS WHY YOU WERE EXHAUSTED

Because deep down, you knew:

No matter how hard you tried…

It was never enough.

And it never will be.

Because God never designed salvation
to come through your effort—

But through Christ’s finished work.

▪️GRACE IS WHERE REST BEGINS

“To him that worketh not, but believeth…”
(Romans 4:5 KJV)

Read that again.

Worketh not.
But believeth.

That’s where peace is.

That’s where assurance is.

That’s where you finally stop striving…

And start resting.

▪️SO WHAT NOW?

Stop trying to earn what God is giving freely.

Stop striving for what Christ already finished.

Just believe.

Trust Him.

Rest in Him.

Because the truth is—

God is not asking you to try harder.
He’s asking you to trust what His Son has already done.
