— It Meets It in Christ
(Romans 3:24–26, KJV)
We often hear grace described as if God simply “relaxed” His demands.
As if He looked at sinful man and said,
“Good enough.”
But that is not grace.
Grace does not lower the standard.
Grace does not ignore sin.
Grace does not pretend righteousness.
Grace satisfies righteousness.
“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood…
that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.”
— Romans 3:24–26
Notice it carefully.
God did not compromise His justice—
He fulfilled it.
God did not set aside His holiness—
He upheld it.
God did not overlook sin—
He judged it… fully… completely… at the cross.
And that changes everything.
Under the Law, the standard was clear:
• Perfect righteousness
• Perfect obedience
• No failure allowed
And man fell short—every time.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
But now—in this present dispensation of grace—God reveals something new through the Apostle Paul.
Not a lowered standard…
…but a provided righteousness.
Through the cross of Christ:
• Justice is satisfied
• Wrath is poured out
• Sin is paid for
• Righteousness is established
Not in you—
but in Him.
This is the power of the gospel of the grace of God.
You are not accepted because you improved.
You are not justified because you tried harder.
You are not saved because you met the standard.
You are accepted because Christ did.
And when you trust Him…
God does something remarkable:
• He justifies you freely
• He imputes righteousness to you
• He places you in Christ
• He sees you through the finished work of His Son
So grace is not “less strict.”
Grace is more powerful.
Because it does what the Law could never do—
“What the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son…” (Romans 8:3)
Let this settle in your heart:
You are not trying to reach God’s standard.
In Christ—you already stand in it.
Not because of your performance…
…but because of His.
So stand in grace.
Rest in the finished work.
Walk in the identity you’ve been given.
And never forget:
Grace did not lower the bar—
It lifted you into Christ, who met it perfectly.
