One of the most heartfelt questions believers ask is:
“Does God still heal today?”
The answer deserves more than a simple yes or no.
It deserves a careful look at what God is doing today.
Not yesterday.
Not tomorrow.
Today.
That is why rightly dividing the Word of Truth matters.
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
When we fail to distinguish God’s programs, we often place expectations on passages that were never written directly to the Church, the Body of Christ.
▪️JESUS’ EARTHLY MINISTRY INCLUDED MIRACULOUS HEALING
There is no question that the Lord Jesus healed the sick.
The Gospels are filled with miraculous demonstrations of His power.
The blind received sight.
The lame walked.
The deaf heard.
The dead were raised.
These miracles were real.
They were glorious.
But they were also signs confirming who Jesus was to Israel.
Matthew 4:23 KJV
“And Jesus went about all Galilee… healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.”
These miracles were part of Israel’s prophetic program and the presentation of her promised King.
▪️RIGHTLY DIVIDE ISRAEL’S PROGRAM AND THE BODY OF CHRIST
One of the greatest keys to understanding healing is recognizing the difference between God’s prophetic program and His present Dispensation of Grace.
👉 Israel’s program was accompanied by miraculous signs.
👉 The Body of Christ is established through the revelation of the mystery.
👉 Israel looked for the earthly kingdom.
👉 The Body of Christ has a heavenly calling.
👉 Prophecy and Mystery are distinct.
The risen Christ revealed a new administration through the Apostle Paul.
Romans 11:13 KJV
“For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office.”
Paul’s epistles become our primary source of doctrine for the Church today.
▪️WHAT DO PAUL’S LETTERS SHOW?
Paul certainly believed God could heal.
He is able to do all things.
But Paul’s letters also show that faithful believers were not always miraculously healed.
Consider these examples:
Paul wrote about:
👉 Trophimus being left sick at Miletum (2 Timothy 4:20)
👉 Timothy’s frequent infirmities (1 Timothy 5:23)
These passages remind us that healing is not presented as a guaranteed promise for every believer in this present dispensation.
▪️WHAT DOES GRACE ACTUALLY PROMISE?
Grace promises something even deeper than temporary physical relief.
Grace promises:
👉 Complete forgiveness in Christ.
👉 Justification by faith.
👉 Peace with God.
👉 Eternal security.
👉 A new identity in Christ.
👉 All spiritual blessings in heavenly places.
👉 Strength sufficient for every trial.
God may choose to heal physically.
We rejoice when He does.
But the promise given to every believer is that His grace is sufficient.
▪️THE GREATEST HEALING HAS ALREADY BEEN PROVIDED
The greatest problem humanity faces is not sickness.
It is sin.
And God has already provided the cure.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 KJV
“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
That is the gospel of grace.
Through Christ’s finished work:
👉 Our sins are forgiven.
👉 We are reconciled to God.
👉 We are placed into the Body of Christ.
👉 We receive everlasting life.
That is the greatest healing anyone can experience.
▪️DON’T MIX LAW, SIGNS, AND GRACE
Much confusion comes from blending together different parts of God’s program.
When we mix Israel’s sign ministry with the present Dispensation of Grace, disappointment often follows.
But when we rightly divide the Scriptures, we discover that God has not changed His character.
He has changed His administration.
His grace is still enough.
His promises are still true.
His Word is still trustworthy.
▪️WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU TODAY
If you are facing sickness, pain, or weakness, know this:
God has not abandoned you.
Your standing before Him does not depend on your physical condition.
You are accepted in Christ.
You are complete in Him.
You are blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places.
And whatever trial you face, His grace is sufficient to sustain you.
▪️A FINAL THOUGHT
The greatest promise of grace is not that every believer will be healed physically in this life.
The greatest promise is that every believer is eternally secure because of the finished work of Christ.
Our hope is not merely for healthier bodies today.
Our hope is in Christ.
Our hope is resurrection.
Our hope is glory.
So trust His Word.
Rest in His grace.
Stand in your identity in Christ.
And rejoice that the God who saved you by grace will one day give you a glorified body that will never know sickness, pain, or death again.
