If You Preach Paul’s Gospel…

Written by Ralph Mark B. Malinao

Expect Opposition—Even from Church People

This may sound surprising.

But it shouldn’t.

Because the moment you begin to preach Paul’s gospel clearly…

you won’t just gain listeners—

you will gain resistance.

Not because the message is wrong…

but because it is rightly divided.

“Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel.”
— 2 Timothy 2:8

“But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.”
— Galatians 1:11

When you stand where Paul stands—

you will feel what Paul felt.

Opposition.

Misunderstanding.

Rejection.

And here’s the hard truth:

It will often come…

not from the world—

but from religious people.

People who love God…

but have not rightly divided His Word.

People who are sincere…

but are mixing law and grace.

People who are devoted…

but are holding on to Israel’s program while trying to live in the Body of Christ.

“For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness…”
— Romans 10:3

Paul faced this constantly.

Not just from pagans—

but from religious systems.

“Are they Hebrews? so am I… Are they ministers of Christ?… I am more… in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure…”
— 2 Corinthians 11:22–23

Why?

Because grace offends pride.

Grace removes boasting.

Grace declares:

👉 It’s not your works
👉 It’s not your performance
👉 It’s not your religion

“For by grace are ye saved through faith… not of works.”
— Ephesians 2:8–9

And not everyone wants to hear that.

So what do you do?

Do you soften the message?

Do you blend it with tradition?

Do you step back to avoid conflict?

No.

You stand.

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free…”
— Galatians 5:1

You preach it clearly.

You teach it patiently.

You live it consistently.

And you remember—

opposition is not always a sign you’re wrong.

Sometimes…

it’s confirmation that you are standing in the truth of this present dispensation of grace.

But don’t let that make you harsh.

Stay gracious.

Stay patient.

Stay grounded in the Word.

Because the goal is not to win arguments—

it’s to see people come to the knowledge of the truth.

“Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
— 1 Timothy 2:4

So if you’re facing resistance—

don’t be discouraged.

Don’t be shaken.

Don’t be silent.

Keep preaching Christ…

according to the revelation of the mystery.

Keep standing in grace.

Keep speaking the truth in love.

Because you’re not just sharing a message—

you’re declaring what God is doing right now.

And yes—

you may gain enemies.

But more importantly—

you will be faithful.

Stand fast.
Hold the line.
Preach grace.
