Israels Hope Is Christ's Return To Earth

Written by Ralph Mark B. Malinao

Our hope is Christ’s call from heaven.
(Titus 2:13)

When we rightly divide the Word of Truth, something beautiful happens.
Confusion gives way to clarity.
Striving gives way to assurance.
And the Bible begins to speak with one clear, harmonious voice.

Scripture reveals two distinct hopes—
not competing,
not contradicting,
but perfectly placed by God.

• Israel’s Hope: Christ’s Return to Earth

Prophecy. Kingdom. Earthly reign.

From the beginning, Israel was promised a coming King—
a Messiah who would return to this earth and reign from David’s throne.

The prophets declared it plainly:

• Zechariah 14:4 – “His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives.”
• Acts 1:11 – “This same Jesus… shall so come in like manner.”
• Matthew 24:30–31 – The Son of Man returns in power and great glory.

Israel’s hope is visible.
It is earthly.
It is kingdom-centered.

• It is the “times of refreshing”
• The “restitution of all things”
(Acts 3:19–21)

The kingdom of heaven brought down to earth.
Israel restored.
The nations blessed.
Christ reigning as King.
(Isaiah 2:1–4; Revelation 21:2–3)

✅ Our Hope: Christ’s Call from Heaven

Mystery. Grace. Heavenly calling.

Then Paul steps onto the page of Scripture—
not with prophecy,
but with revelation.

He tells us what was hidden, now made known:

• Titus 2:13 – “Looking for that blessed hope…”
• 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 – We are caught up to meet the Lord in the air.
• Philippians 3:20 – Our citizenship is in heaven.

Notice the difference.

👉 We are not waiting for Christ to come down.
👉 We are waiting to be called up.

This is the rapture—
Christ calling His Body home
before the day of wrath comes upon the world
(1 Thessalonians 1:10; 5:9).

This is the heavenly hope:
• Seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6–7)
• Our life hid with Christ in God (Colossians 3:1–4)

• Right Division Brings Peace

Here’s the clarity Scripture gives us:

• Israel
– Prophetic program
– Earthly kingdom
– Christ returns to reign

• Body of Christ
– Mystery program
– Heavenly calling
– Christ calls us upward

Same Savior.
Same cross.
Different hopes.

When we mix them, doctrine blurs.
When we divide them rightly, faith rests.

The prophets spoke of a King returning to earth.
Paul spoke of a Savior calling us to heaven.

Both are true.
Both are biblical.
But they are not for the same people,
and not at the same time.

So let me ask you—gently, personally, lovingly:
Are you looking for Christ to come back to earth…
or are you looking for Him to call you home from heaven?

“Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”
