Israel's Promises Are Postponed, But God's Grace Is Present

Written by Ralph Mark B. Malinao

Many get confused when reading the Bible, because they try to mix Israel’s promises with the Body of Christ’s promises. But when we rightly divide (2 Timothy 2:15), everything makes sense.

📖 Romans 11:25–29 tells us:

• Israel’s blindness is temporary, “until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.”

• God has not canceled His promises—He will still bring salvation to Israel and establish their kingdom.

• The gifts and calling of God are without repentance (He doesn’t go back on His Word). 🙏

🔹 Israel’s Promises (Postponed, Not Cancelled)

God promised Israel an earthly kingdom with Christ ruling from Jerusalem (Luke 1:32–33; Acts 1:6).

• They were promised the land 🌍 (Genesis 17:7–8).

• They were promised to be a kingdom of priests 👑 (Exodus 19:5–6).

• They were promised the throne and reign of Messiah ✡️ (2 Samuel 7:12–16).

But Israel rejected their King and His kingdom (John 1:11; Acts 7:51). So, their program is temporarily put on hold.

🔹 God’s Grace (Present Right Now)

In the meantime, God revealed a new program through the apostle Paul: the mystery (Ephesians 3:3–9).

• Salvation is offered to both Jew and Gentile alike by grace through faith (Romans 3:22–24; Ephesians 2:8–9).

• Instead of Israel’s earthly kingdom, God is forming the Body of Christ with a heavenly inheritance (Philippians 3:20; Colossians 3:1–4).

• Instead of law and ordinances, we are under grace and liberty (Romans 6:14; Colossians 2:14–16).

🔥 This means: Right now, God is not establishing Israel’s kingdom on earth. He’s building the Body of Christ for heaven.

🗝️ The Big Picture

• Israel’s promises = postponed until after the Body of Christ is complete (the rapture).

• The Body of Christ = revealed in this present dispensation of grace.

• God is faithful = He will keep His Word to Israel, just as He secures us by grace.

🙌 Praise God! Israel’s promises are sure, but today God’s grace is present and freely available to anyone who trusts in the finished work of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:3–4).

❓Question for you:
Do you rejoice in the liberty of God’s grace today, while trusting that He will still fulfill His promises to Israel in His perfect timing?
