— Standing in Grace
(Romans 5)
The Christian life does not begin with striving…
It begins with standing.
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).
Not trying to get right with God—
but already made right.
Not working for acceptance—
but resting in it.
This is the foundation.
▪️You Are Not at War with God
Through the cross, the war is over.
• Peace is not something you chase
• Peace is something you have
“…we have peace with God…”
Right now. Present tense.
And not only peace—
“By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand…” (Romans 5:2)
Access is not limited.
Access is not delayed.
You are brought near.
You stand in grace.
▪️Hope That Is Certain
The world says, “I hope so,” meaning uncertainty.
But Scripture speaks differently:
“…and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
This hope is not a wish—
It is a confident expectation.
A sure thing.
The glory of God will be revealed.
His presence. His power. His purpose.
And you are not on the outside looking in—
You are included.
▪️Position Before Performance
God didn’t place you in Christ based on your works.
He placed you there based on His Son.
• Justified by faith
• Given peace
• Granted access
• Standing in grace
This is your identity before anything you do.
Doctrine first.
Life flows from truth understood.
▪️An Inheritance Already Secured
You are not waiting to become an heir—
You already are one.
“…heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ…” (Romans 8:17)
“…translated…into the kingdom of his dear Son” (Colossians 1:13)
Your future is not uncertain.
It is laid up.
It is secured.
It is yours in Christ.
▪️Trusted by the Father—Trusted by You
Here is something remarkable:
The Father placed His full confidence in the finished work of Christ.
And now—
You are called to trust the very same thing.
Not your performance.
Not your consistency.
But His cross.
Faith rests where God rests.
▪️Sealed and Secure
God didn’t just save you—
He sealed you.
“…ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise” (Ephesians 1:13)
That seal is a guarantee.
• Your future resurrection
• Your glorified body
• Your full redemption
This is not fragile.
This is secure.
▪️From Reconciliation to Reigning
The cross was not a partial victory—
It was total.
Through Christ, God will reconcile all things unto Himself (Colossians 1:20).
He will restore order in heaven and earth.
And here is the grace given to us:
Those who share in His life now—
will share in His glory then.
“…if we suffer, we shall also reign with him…” (2 Timothy 2:12)
Not to earn position—
But because we are already in Him.
▪️So Where Do You Stand Today?
Not in fear.
Not in uncertainty.
Not in striving.
But in grace.
Standing. Resting. Rejoicing.
• Justified by faith
• At peace with God
• Access granted
• Hope secured
• Future guaranteed
This is not shallow truth—
This is deep, stabilizing doctrine.
This is what carries you
when feelings fluctuate,
when circumstances press,
when the world shakes.
You don’t move the foundation.
You stand on it.
Stand fast… in grace.
