Prophecy Is No Mystery

Written by Ralph Mark B. Malinao

God’s Word is crystal clear: there are two distinct programs in Scripture—the prophecy program for Israel and the mystery program revealed to Paul for the Body of Christ.

Mixing them only leads to confusion.
Let’s break it down so we can walk in clarity and truth.

✅ Prophecy – Revealed since the world began
• Spoken by the prophets of old (Luke 1:70; Acts 3:21)
• Concerns God’s earthly people, Israel, and their promised kingdom
• Foretold events like the Messiah, His death, His resurrection, and His coming reign on earth

✅ Mystery – Kept secret since the world began
• Hidden in God, not made known until Paul revealed it (Rom. 16:25; Eph. 3:2–9; Col. 1:26)
• Concerns God’s heavenly people, the Body of Christ
• Preaches salvation by grace alone, apart from Israel, the Law, or prophecy

• Prophecy = God’s plan through Israel for the earth
• Mystery = God’s plan through Paul for the Body of Christ in heavenly places

When you try to mix them, confusion follows:
• Putting the Church into Israel’s promises
• Dragging Israel into the Body of Christ

But when we rightly divide the Word (2 Tim. 2:15), both programs shine in their perfect wisdom—and God is glorified!

👉 Remember:
• Prophecy = revealed since the world began
• Mystery = kept secret since the world began

Prophecy is no mystery. The mystery is no prophecy.

Think about it:
If prophecy was spoken by the prophets since the world began (Acts 3:21),
and the mystery was kept secret until revealed to Paul (Rom. 16:25),
how could they ever be the same program?

God has a plan for Israel.
God has a plan for the Church.
Both are perfect. Both are glorious.
And both reveal His amazing wisdom when we see them as God intended.
