What separates man from God?
👉 The Bible is clear: Sin (Isa. 59:2; Rom. 5:12).
Now, some teach that everyone is already forgiven of all sins (past, present, and future)—even in unbelief.
But if that’s true…
• Wouldn’t that mean there’s no separation left between man and God?
• Wouldn’t that mean everyone is automatically going to heaven?
• If so, then why would Jesus warn about hell (Mark 9:43–48)?
• Why would Paul plead, “be ye reconciled to God” (2 Cor. 5:20), if reconciliation was automatic?
The truth:
Christ’s death made forgiveness available to all, but it is received by faith in His finished work (Rom. 3:28; Eph. 1:7; Col. 1:14). Unbelief still leaves a person separated and without hope (Eph. 2:12).
The cross removed the barrier of sin, but salvation is only applied to those who trust the gospel of grace (1 Cor. 15:3–4). Forgiveness is offered to all—but not forced on anyone.
“In Christ”, believers are forgiven, sealed, and secure (Eph. 1:13–14).
Question for You:
If forgiveness were automatic for all, then what need would there be for faith in Christ?
