Many have been taught that salvation is something you work toward…
Step by step.
Effort by effort.
Good deed by good deed.
But the Bible tells a different story.
👉 Salvation is not a process.
👉 Salvation is a moment.
A moment when a sinner believes the gospel—and is saved.
▪️THE REAL PROBLEM: SIN
Scripture is clear:
“All have sinned…”
—Romans 3:23
And the consequence?
“The soul that sinneth, it shall die.”
—Ezekiel 18:4
This is not just physical death.
👉 It is spiritual death.
👉 Separation from God.
Man is not “mostly good.”
Man is dead in trespasses and sins.
Like a dead battery—no life, no power, no ability to fix itself.
We don’t need improvement.
👉 We need LIFE.
▪️THE ONLY ANSWER: THE GOSPEL
The good news is not religion.
The good news is not reform.
The good news is a finished work.
“For I delivered unto you… how that Christ died for our sins…
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day…”
—1 Corinthians 15:3–4
That is the gospel.
Simple.
Clear.
Complete.
And it is:
“The power of God unto salvation…”
—Romans 1:16
▪️NOT BY WORKS—NOT BY RELIGION
Let’s make it plain:
• Not water baptism
• Not church membership
• Not good behavior
• Not turning over a new leaf
“Without shedding of blood is no remission.”
—Hebrews 9:22
“Without faith it is impossible to please him.”
—Hebrews 11:6
👉 The price was paid by Christ.
👉 The response is faith.
Nothing added.
Nothing required beyond believing.
▪️IDENTIFIED WITH CHRIST
When you believe the gospel—
Something happens.
Immediately.
Spiritually.
Completely.
You are placed into Christ.
“For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death,
we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.”
—Romans 6:5
The old life?
👉 Crucified.
The new life?
👉 Raised with Him.
Like a seed that falls into the ground and dies—
life comes forth.
▪️WHOSOEVER MEANS WHOSOEVER
The invitation is open:
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved.”
—Romans 10:9
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
—Romans 10:13
No barriers.
No categories.
No exceptions.
👉 Believe—and be saved.
In this present Dispensation of Grace—
God is not asking for performance.
God is not requiring religion.
👉 God is offering salvation freely
👉 Through faith alone
👉 In Christ alone
Conclusion:
Stop striving.
Stop trying to earn what was already paid for.
Rest in the finished work.
Trust the gospel.
Receive the gift.
Because the moment you believe—
👉 You pass from death unto life.
That’s not a process.
That’s salvation.
