This is not a small question.
It is not emotional only.
It is doctrinal.
It is personal.
It is costly.
Many believers today are discovering the truth of right division —
and then looking around their church and realizing
that Paul’s distinctive apostleship and message
are not being taught.
So what do you do?
Stay?
Leave?
Confront?
Remain silent?
Let’s let Scripture speak.
▪️The Reality We Are Living In
Rightly Dividing (RD) churches are rare.
That should not shock us.
Even in Paul’s own lifetime he wrote:
“At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me…” (2 Timothy 4:16)
Paul also warned that apostasy would mark the latter days of this dispensation:
“That day shall not come, except there come a falling away first…” (2 Thessalonians 2:3)
“Some shall depart from the faith…” (1 Timothy 4:1)
“Perilous times shall come…” (2 Timothy 3:1)
Ever learning.
Never coming to the knowledge of the truth.
When we see confusion, mixture, Calvinism, covenant theology, kingdom blending —
we should not be surprised.
Prophetically, Israel’s program is paused.
Practically, apostasy increases.
We are near the close of the Dispensation of Grace.
That should not discourage us.
It should steady us.
▪️What Are We Called To Do?
Paul gives clear instructions.
“Withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.” (2 Thessalonians 3:6)
Notice that phrase:
“After the tradition which he received of us.”
The issue is not personality.
Not preference.
Not music style.
It is doctrine.
Paul repeats the command:
“If any man obey not our word… have no company with him.” (2 Thessalonians 3:14)
“Mark them… contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.” (Romans 16:17)
“From such withdraw thyself.” (1 Timothy 6:5)
“A man that is an heretick… reject.” (Titus 3:10)
These are not suggestions.
They are commandments of the ascended Lord given through Paul.
“The things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 14:37)
Strong words.
Clear words.
Uncomfortable words.
▪️Why Is Paul Central?
Because in this dispensation, Paul is the pattern.
“In me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern…” (1 Timothy 1:16)
Abraham was the father of the nation.
Moses was Israel’s lawgiver.
Paul is the apostle of the Gentiles (Romans 11:13).
Through him was revealed:
• The Mystery
• The Body of Christ
• Our heavenly calling
• The dispensation of grace (Ephesians 3:2)
If a church ignores or minimizes Paul’s distinct ministry,
it will inevitably blend Israel and the Church.
And blending programs produces confusion.
▪️Should You Approach Your Pastor?
Yes.
Scripture allows for admonition.
Warn once.
Warn twice.
“After the first and second admonition reject.” (Titus 3:10)
But go in prayerfully.
Understand:
• Years of education may be invested.
• Reputations are at stake.
• Systems are deeply rooted.
Most are not ready to abandon long-held theology.
Prepare your heart for rejection.
▪️The Emotional Cost Is Real
If you step away, there may be:
• Isolation
• Misunderstanding
• Loss of friendships
• Accusations
You may feel grief.
You may feel anger.
You may feel alone.
But remember:
“All that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” (2 Timothy 3:12)
And also remember:
“The sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory…” (Romans 8:18)
We will all stand at the Judgment Seat of Christ.
“Every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” (Romans 14:12)
The question will not be:
“Were you comfortable?”
The question will be:
“Were you faithful?”
▪️A Word of Balance
Leaving does not mean bitterness.
Withdrawing does not mean attacking.
Avoiding does not mean mocking.
Don’t spend all your energy fighting the old.
Invest your energy in building the new.
Preach the mystery.
Teach grace.
Encourage the saints.
Be an ambassador.
“Make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery.” (Ephesians 3:9)
▪️So… Should You Leave?
That decision is personal.
But the instructions are clear:
• Follow Paul’s doctrine.
• Separate from teaching contrary to it.
• Endure hardship.
• Keep your spirit right.
The scarcity of RD churches does not mean the truth is weak.
It means the dispensation is nearing completion.
So stand fast.
Look up.
“Looking for that blessed hope…” (Titus 2:13)
And remember —
Faithfulness now
will be rewarded then.
Grace has entrusted us with truth.
Let us handle it carefully.
