✨ If we are “spiritual Israel”… why does Paul say the Body of Christ is a “new creature”?
📖 2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
📖 Galatians 6:15 – “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.”
💡 Many today teach that the Church is simply “spiritual Israel,” a continuation or replacement of God’s promises to the nation. But Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles (Rom. 11:13), reveals something different: God is creating something entirely new—the Body of Christ! 🙌
🔹 Israel’s hope was earthly: a kingdom promised since the world began (Acts 3:21; Luke 1:70).
🔹 Our hope is heavenly: a mystery kept secret since the world began, but revealed to Paul (Rom. 16:25; Col. 1:26).
🔹 Israel’s calling was tied to covenants and circumcision (Gen. 17; Jer. 31:31).
🔹 Our calling is not of covenants, law, or circumcision, but of grace and the cross of Christ alone (Eph. 2:13–16; Eph. 3:1–9).
🚨 If the Church were just “spiritual Israel”… then Paul’s words about a new creature would make no sense. Israel was not new—she had promises, prophecy, and a covenanted destiny. The Body of Christ is brand new—neither Jew nor Gentile, but “one new man” (Eph. 2:15).
👉 That’s why Paul says:
• We are not under the law (Rom. 6:14).
• We are not part of Israel’s covenants (Eph. 2:12).
• We are not awaiting an earthly kingdom, but a heavenly inheritance (Phil. 3:20; Col. 3:1–4).
🔥 Friend, don’t confuse Israel’s program with the Mystery revealed to Paul. Right division (2 Tim. 2:15) shows us that we’re not “spiritual Israel”… we are something better, higher, and brand new in Christ—a new creature, the Body of Christ, saved by grace through faith alone! 🙏💖
