(Revelation 20 — Rightly Divided)
There is a day coming—
not symbolic, not spiritualized—
but real.
A Kingdom.
A throne.
A reign.
And Revelation 20
▪️A LITERAL KINGDOM — NOT A FIGURE OF SPEECH
Six times the passage repeats it—
“a thousand years.” (Revelation 20:2–7, KJV)
God is not vague here.
He is precise.
Not “a long time.”
Not “an age.”
But a defined, measured reign.
A thousand years where Christ rules on earth.
This is not the Body of Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6).
This is prophecy—Israel’s Kingdom—fulfilled on earth.
Rightly divided, it fits perfectly.
▪️SATAN BOUND — GOD’S AUTHORITY ON DISPLAY
“And he laid hold on the dragon… and bound him a thousand years.”
— Revelation 20:2
No struggle.
No contest.
A “great chain” is all it takes—
because it’s not about the chain.
It’s about God’s authority.
Satan is removed.
Deception stops.
The nations are no longer blinded.
For a thousand years—
truth reigns.
▪️TWO RESURRECTIONS — TWO DESTINIES
Scripture draws a clear line.
1. The First Resurrection — Life and Reign
This includes the faithful from ages past—
from Abel, through Israel’s program,
and those who endure the Tribulation.
“They lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.”
— Revelation 20:4
This is resurrection unto life.
Unto glory.
Unto reigning.
2. The Second Resurrection — Judgment
“But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.”
— Revelation 20:5
This is the lost.
Raised after the Kingdom—
to stand before the Great White Throne.
“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
— Revelation 20:15
No second chance.
No appeal.
Only justice.
▪️GOD’S TIMELINE — ORDER, NOT CHAOS
God is not guessing.
He is working a plan.
“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years…”
— 2 Peter 3:8
From the beginning, there is a pattern:
• Six “days” — man under his own rule
• One “day” — Christ reigning in rest
Six thousand years of human history…
followed by a thousand years of divine rule.
Not random.
Not accidental.
Perfectly ordered.
▪️FIRSTFRUITS — THE GUARANTEE OF RESURRECTION
“But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits…”
— 1 Corinthians 15:20
The pattern starts with Him.
Christ rose—never to die again.
Not like Lazarus, who returned to this life only to die later.
But raised in immortality.
That’s resurrection.
And because He lives—
resurrection is certain.
Not just survival.
Not just revival.
Transformation.
Glory.
Eternal life.
▪️RIGHTLY DIVIDED — WHERE DO WE STAND?
We are not waiting for the Kingdom to begin.
We are members of the Body of Christ—
saved by grace,
placed into heavenly positions (Ephesians 1:3).
The Kingdom is Israel’s hope.
The Body is our identity.
Different programs.
Same God.
▪️SO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR US TODAY?
We are still in the day of grace.
Still the time of salvation.
Still the open door.
So we:
• Rest in the finished work of Christ
• Stand fast in the gospel of grace (1 Corinthians 15:3–4)
• Walk by faith, not by sight
• Look for that blessed hope (Titus 2:13)
Because this world is not the end.
A Kingdom is coming.
A judgment is coming.
And eternity is real.
Are you ready?
Have you trusted Christ?
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.”
— Acts 16:31 (KJV)
