The Body of Christ Is Not Called to Reform the World —

Written by Ralph Mark B. Malinao

— But to Rescue Souls

There is a common confusion today…

Many believe the Church is here to fix society,
to clean up culture,
to reform the world system.

But that is not our calling.

Not in this present Dispensation of Grace.

The world is not getting better.
It is running its course.

“Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse…” (2 Timothy 3:13)

This present evil world (Galatians 1:4)
is not something we are sent to repair—

It is something Christ came to deliver us from.

So what is our mission?

Not reformation…
but reconciliation.

“God… hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.” (2 Corinthians 5:18)

We are not called to make the world righteous.

We are called to proclaim
the One who is our righteousness.

Think about it:

If the world could be fixed…
why would it need to be judged?

If society could be reformed…
why would Christ return to set up His Kingdom?

No—

The program today is not the Kingdom being established on earth.

The program today is Grace being extended to all.

That is why Paul says:

“We preach Christ crucified…” (1 Corinthians 1:23)

Not culture.
Not politics.
Not moral reform.

Christ.

Our calling is clear:

• Preach the gospel of the grace of God (Acts 20:24)
• Proclaim forgiveness through His blood (Ephesians 1:7)
• Call men to be reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:20)

Not to polish the system—
but to pull people out of it.

Because this world system…

“…lieth in wickedness.” (1 John 5:19)

It is not neutral.
It is not fixable.
It is under a course.

“Aion” — a course of this world (Ephesians 2:2)

And that course ends in judgment.

But here is the hope—

God is saving people out of this present evil world.

One soul at a time.
One gospel at a time.

So don’t lose focus.

Don’t get distracted.

Don’t trade your calling for a lesser mission.

You are not here to reform the world.

You are here to:

• Preach the gospel (1 Cor. 15:1-4)
• Lift up Christ
• Rescue the lost

Because in the end—

Laws cannot save.
Culture cannot redeem.
Religion cannot transform.

Only Christ can.

And today…

He is still saving.

Still reconciling.
Still extending grace.

So stay faithful.

Stay clear.

Stay grounded in the message committed to us.

“Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord…” (2 Timothy 1:8)

Rescue souls.

That is the mission.

Grace and peace.
