There's No New Revelation Today

Written by Ralph Mark B. Malinao

Have you ever heard someone say,

👉 “God gave me a new revelation.”

👉 “The Lord showed me something no one has ever seen before.”

👉 “God is still revealing new doctrine today.”

Those claims may sound spiritual.

But are they biblical?

Not when we rightly divide the Word of Truth.

▪️GOD’S REVELATION FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST IS COMPLETE

The risen Lord Jesus Christ revealed the Mystery to the Apostle Paul.

Paul writes:

“For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles…”
Romans 11:13 (KJV)

Paul was entrusted with a unique apostleship and a unique revelation concerning the Body of Christ.

That revelation was not intended to continue through modern prophets or apostles.

It was completed in Paul’s ministry.

▪️”TO FULFIL THE WORD OF GOD”

One of the clearest statements Paul ever made is found in Colossians.

“Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;”
Colossians 1:25 (KJV)

Notice carefully.

Paul says the dispensation given to him was “to fulfil the word of God.”

The very next verse explains what he means:

“Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:”
Colossians 1:26 (KJV)

The Mystery was once hidden.

Now it has been revealed.

Not partially.

Not progressively through the centuries.

But made manifest through Paul’s ministry.

▪️PROPHECY VS MYSTERY

This is where many sincere believers become confused.

In prophecy, God revealed His purpose for Israel through:

• Moses

• The prophets

• John the Baptist

• Jesus in His earthly ministry

• The Twelve Apostles

But prophecy is not the Mystery.

The Mystery was:

• Hidden since the world began (Romans 16:25)

• Revealed by the risen Christ to Paul

• Given for the Body of Christ

Once the Mystery was revealed, believers were not instructed to expect another body of doctrine beyond it.

▪️ISRAEL VS THE BODY OF CHRIST

Israel’s program included signs, miracles, prophetic messages, dreams, and visions confirming God’s dealings with that nation.

Today, God is forming the Body of Christ under the Dispensation of Grace.

Paul is our apostle.

The doctrine for the Church is found primarily in his epistles.

That is why we are told to study—not to seek new revelation.

▪️LAW VS GRACE

Many believers spend their lives chasing:

• New prophecies

• New visions

• New dreams

• New revelations

But God’s instruction today is different.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God… rightly dividing the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

God isn’t calling us to chase new messages.

He’s calling us to understand the message He has already revealed.

▪️THE GOSPEL FOR TODAY

The message that saves today has never changed.

Paul declares:

“How that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
1 Corinthians 15:3–4 (KJV)

That is the Gospel of the Grace of God.

Nothing needs to be added to it.

Nothing can improve it.

Faith rests in Christ’s finished work—not in receiving a new revelation.

▪️THE BLESSED CONCLUSION

God’s revelation for the Church, the Body of Christ, has been completed.

Paul says his ministry was given “to fulfil the word of God.”

The Mystery that had been hidden has now been made manifest.

Our responsibility today is not to search for another revelation.

It is to believe the Gospel, study Paul’s epistles, and rightly divide the Scriptures.

There is no new revelation today.

There is continual growth in understanding the written Word.

But there is no new doctrinal revelation beyond what the glorified Christ revealed through His apostle, Paul.

Don’t seek a new revelation.

Seek a deeper understanding of the revelation God has already given.
