“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”

Those are some of the strongest words the Apostle Paul ever wrote.
Why such strong language?
Because the gospel is not negotiable.
It is not ours to change.
It is God’s message.
▪️THE GOSPEL CANNOT BE IMPROVED
Paul doesn’t merely warn against false teachers.
He raises the standard even higher.
He says:
“Though we…”
Even if Paul himself were to return preaching a different gospel…
Don’t believe him.
Then he adds something even more astonishing:
“…or an angel from heaven…”
Even a supernatural messenger is not above God’s written truth.
The message is tested by Scripture.
Scripture is never tested by the messenger.
▪️PROPHECY VS MYSTERY
This warning makes perfect sense when we rightly divide the Word of Truth.
Throughout Scripture, God revealed different programs at different times.
There was God’s prophetic program concerning Israel.
Then the risen Christ revealed the Mystery to Paul.
Paul writes:
“For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles…”
Romans 11:13 (KJV)
The gospel committed to Paul for this Dispensation of Grace is not to be altered, mixed, or replaced.
▪️ISRAEL VS THE BODY OF CHRIST
Many false gospels arise because people combine God’s instructions to Israel with His instructions for the Body of Christ.
Kingdom requirements are mixed with Grace.
Law is added to faith.
Religious rituals are added to Christ’s finished work.
The result is confusion.
But God is not the author of confusion.
When we rightly divide Israel’s prophetic program from the Mystery revealed to Paul, the Gospel remains pure.
▪️LAW VS GRACE
Religion says:
• Add your works.
• Add your obedience.
• Add your ceremonies.
Grace says:
Christ has already done the work.
Paul never preached salvation by faith plus performance.
He preached salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone.
Adding anything to the Gospel changes it into another gospel.
▪️THE GOSPEL FOR TODAY
Paul clearly defines the message that saves today:
“How that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
1 Corinthians 15:3–4 (KJV)
That is the Gospel of the Grace of God.
It is complete.
It is sufficient.
It needs no additions.
▪️DON’T BE IMPRESSED BY THE MESSENGER
Paul’s warning is especially relevant today.
People are often captivated by:
• Charismatic personalities.
• Miraculous experiences.
• Claims of visions.
• Claims of angelic encounters.
But Paul says the issue is never the messenger.
The issue is the message.
If the message contradicts the Gospel revealed to Paul, it must be rejected—no matter who delivers it.
▪️THE BLESSED CONCLUSION
God has not left us to guess what truth is.
He has revealed it in His written Word.
When we rightly divide:
• Israel and the Body of Christ.
• Prophecy and Mystery.
• Law and Grace.
The Gospel shines with clarity.
Never exchange the simplicity of Christ for another gospel.
Never allow tradition, religion, or even supernatural claims to move you away from the truth committed to the Apostle Paul.
The messenger is never above the message.
The Gospel of Grace must remain unchanged.
