Two Gospels. One Bible. Rightly Divided.

Two Gospels Galatians 2:7

Written by Ralph Mark B. Malinao

“But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter.”
(Galatians 2:7)

This verse is small—but it carries huge weight.

Many sincere believers assume the Bible teaches one single message, for all people, at all times, in the same way. That assumption, however well-intended, is the root of much confusion.

God’s Word is unified.
But God’s programs are distinct.

And Galatians 2:7 tells us so plainly.

▪️Two Gospels — Not Two Gods

Paul says there were two gospel ministries operating side by side:

👉 The gospel of the circumcision

• Committed to Peter and the Twelve
• Preached to Israel

Focused on:

• The promised earthly Kingdom
• Israel’s covenant hope
• Messiah reigning on David’s throne

Jesus said it clearly:

“Go not into the way of the Gentiles…” (Matthew 10:5–6)
• It was to the Jew first (Romans 1:16)

👉 The gospel of the uncircumcision

• Committed uniquely to Paul
• Sent to Gentiles
• Reveals a mystery hidden from ages past

Centers on:

• Salvation by grace through faith
• Apart from the Law
• Formation of the Body of Christ

“The dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward…” (Ephesians 3:2)

Same Bible.
Different stewardship.
Different calling.

▪️Paul Was Not a “Late Addition”

Paul did not simply repeat what the Twelve were preaching.

He received revelation from the risen Christ.

“According to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began.”
(Romans 16:25)

Without Paul’s epistles:

• Israel’s earthly promises get mixed with our heavenly ones
• Law sneaks back into grace
• Works creep into faith
• Assurance gets shaken

Paul gives us clarity.
Paul gives us identity.
Paul gives us our marching orders for today.

▪️Grace Over Law — Right Now

The Law was real.
The Law was holy.
The Law was given to Israel for a purpose.

But today?

“By grace are ye saved through faith… not of works.”
(Ephesians 2:8–9)

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done…”
(Titus 3:5)

We are not under Law.
We are not under Israel’s covenants.
We are under grace.

Grace teaches us who we are, not how to earn.

▪️Blessings of the Body of Christ

Through Paul, God reveals what is true of us right now:

• One spiritual Body in Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12–13)
• Heavenly citizenship (Philippians 3:20)
• A heavenly calling and destiny (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17)
• Every spiritual blessing already ours (Ephesians 1:3)

Not striving.
Not waiting.
Already complete in Him.

▪️Conclusion:

When we try to live today by Israel’s program, confusion follows.

But when we:

• Recognize Paul’s unique apostleship
• Understand Galatians 2:7
• Rightly divide the Word of truth

Grace becomes clear.
Assurance becomes solid.
Joy becomes steady.

▪️A Gentle but Important Question

Are you trying to live under a gospel meant for Israel’s Kingdom…
or resting in the gospel Christ revealed through Paul for the Body of Christ today?

This is not about division.
It’s about distinction.

And distinction brings peace, clarity, and confidence in Christ.

Rightly divided truth sets believers free.
