(Revelation 12 & 8 — Rightly Divided)
There is a moment coming—
A turning point in prophecy—
When what has been hidden in the heavens
breaks out into open conflict.
▪️WAR IN HEAVEN
“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon…”
— Revelation 12:7 (KJV)
This is not symbolic.
This is real.
A literal conflict in the heavenly places.
Satan—
The accuser.
The adversary.
The one who once had access—
Is cast out.
Forever.
“Neither was their place found any more in heaven.”
— Revelation 12:8 (KJV)
Before this moment, Scripture shows us something important:
In Job 1—
Satan appears before God.
He accuses.
He challenges.
He resists.
But that access ends.
Permanently.
▪️OUR STANDING IN CHRIST — A PRESENT REALITY
Even now, we understand something precious:
“Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.
Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again…”
— Romans 8:33–34 (KJV)
While Satan accuses—
Christ has already settled the case.
While the enemy points to failure—
God points to justification.
Not our performance.
Not our record.
But His finished work.
▪️CAST DOWN — WRATH UNLEASHED
“Woe to the inhabiters of the earth… for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath…”
— Revelation 12:12 (KJV)
When Satan is cast out—
He is cast down.
And when he is cast down—
He knows something:
👉 His time is short.
So what does he do?
• He persecutes
• He deceives
• He rages
His primary target?
👉 Israel.
But even in wrath—
God preserves.
“And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle…”
— Revelation 12:14 (KJV)
God protects Israel in the wilderness.
Because prophecy must be fulfilled.
▪️MEANWHILE… IN HEAVEN
Something astonishing happens.
“And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven…”
— Revelation 8:1 (KJV)
Silence.
In heaven.
No praise.
No movement.
No voices.
For half an hour—
Everything stops.
Why?
Because judgment is about to intensify.
▪️THE TRUMPETS BEGIN
What follows is not random disaster.
It is measured judgment.
▪️First Trumpet
“Hail and fire mingled with blood…”
— Revelation 8:7
• A third of trees burned
• All green grass destroyed
▪️Second Trumpet
“A great mountain burning with fire…”
— Revelation 8:8
• Cast into the sea
• A third becomes blood
• Life in the sea dies
▪️Third Trumpet
“A great star… called Wormwood…”
— Revelation 8:10–11
• Waters poisoned
• Many men die
▪️Fourth Trumpet
“A third part of the sun… smitten…”
— Revelation 8:12
• Darkness falls
• Light is reduced
This is not symbolic language for confusion.
This is real, global judgment.
▪️RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE MOMENT
Let’s be clear:
This is not the Body of Christ.
This is not the Dispensation of Grace.
This is:
👉 The resumption of prophecy
👉 The time of Jacob’s trouble (Jeremiah 30:7)
👉 God dealing with Israel and the nations
We are not waiting for these things.
We are waiting for:
👉 “The catching away” (1 Thessalonians 4:17)
▪️WHY THIS MATTERS
This passage reminds us:
• Evil is real
• Satan is active
• Judgment is coming
But also:
• God is in control of His plan
• Christ has already secured victory
• Grace is still being offered today
▪️LET THIS SETTLE IN YOUR HEART
There is coming a day:
When heaven goes silent…
When judgment falls…
When wrath is poured out…
But today—
Is not that day.
Today is:
• The day of grace
• The time of reconciliation
• The moment of opportunity
“Now is the accepted time… now is the day of salvation.”
— 2 Corinthians 6:2 (KJV)
Don’t wait for Revelation 12.
Don’t wait for Revelation 8.
Come to Christ now— (1 Cor. 15:1-4)
While grace still speaks.
