A Rightly Divided Answer About God’s Current Dealings With Humanity
Every headline raises the same question.
Wars.
Corruption.
Violence.
Perversion.
Deception everywhere.
And sincere people ask:
• “Where is God in all of this?”
• “Why isn’t He sending judgment like He did in the Bible?”
• “How long will God allow evil to continue?”
Those are honest questions.
And the answer isn’t found in emotion, speculation, or fear-driven preaching.
The answer is found in right division—understanding how God is working today.
Let’s open the Scriptures.
1. In Time Past — God Judged Sin Openly
In the Old Testament, God’s judgment was visible, immediate, and unmistakable:
• The Flood in Noah’s day (Genesis 6–7)
• Sodom and Gomorrah destroyed (Genesis 19)
• Egypt struck with plagues (Exodus 7–12)
• Korah swallowed alive (Numbers 16)
• Israel judged repeatedly through the prophets
Under the Law, God’s dealings with Israel followed a clear pattern:
Obedience brought blessing.
Disobedience brought judgment.
“If ye will not hearken unto me… I will punish you seven times more.”
— Leviticus 26
— Deuteronomy 28
So the question naturally follows:
If God judged sin then… why not now?
2. The Cross Changed Everything
After the cross, something unexpected happened.
Instead of pouring out wrath,
God poured out grace.
Instead of judging the world,
God saved the chief of sinners (1 Tim. 1:15).
And through the apostle Paul, God revealed a program never made known before:
“The dispensation of the grace of God”
— Ephesians 3:2
This was not foretold by the prophets.
This was not preached by the Twelve.
This was a mystery, revealed after Israel’s fall.
From this point on, God’s message to the world was no longer wrath and judgment—
but grace and peace.
Notice something powerful:
Every one of Paul’s epistles begins the same way:
“Grace be to you, and peace…”
— Romans 1:7
— 1 Corinthians 1:3
— Galatians 1:3
Never wrath.
Never judgment.
Always grace.
3. God Is Not Judging the World Today — He Is Offering Grace
We are not living in the day of the Lord.
We are living in the dispensation of grace.
That means:
• God is not pouring out plagues
• He is not raining fire from heaven
• He is offering forgiveness freely
Paul describes this age as a time of longsuffering:
“God our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
— 1 Timothy 2:3–4
“Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering…?”
— Romans 2:4
Just as God waited patiently in Noah’s day,
He is waiting again—giving the world time to respond to grace.
God is not slow.
God is merciful.
4. Judgment Is Coming — But Not Yet
God’s silence is not approval.
His patience is not weakness.
“Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness…”
— Acts 17:31
That day is appointed.
When it comes, judgment will be:
• Righteous
• Final
• Inescapable (2 Thess. 1:8–9)
But today is not that day.
“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
— 2 Corinthians 6:2
5. Why Right Division Matters So Much
Many churches today preach judgment messages taken from:
• The prophets
• The Gospels
• Israel’s program under the Law
You’ll hear:
• “God is judging our nation!”
• “Natural disasters are His punishment!”
• “Repent or God will destroy us like Sodom!”
But this confuses prophecy with mystery,
law with grace,
Israel with the Body of Christ.
Preaching judgment today puts people under fear—
when God has offered peace.
“Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.”
— Romans 5:20
6. What We Are Called to Preach Today
Not wrath.
Not threats.
Not condemnation.
We preach:
• Christ crucified (1 Cor. 1:23)
• Reconciliation, not condemnation (2 Cor. 5:19)
• Salvation by grace through faith alone (Eph. 2:8–9)
Your message should match your dispensation.
Conclusion:
God is not judging the world today
because He judged sin at the cross.
Right now, mercy triumphs.
Grace reigns.
Salvation is offered freely.
But this window will not stay open forever.
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.”
That is the message for today.
Key Verses to Study

• 2 Corinthians 5:19 — Sins not imputed today
• Acts 17:30–31 — Judgment appointed

Father, thank You for Your patience and Your grace in this present age.
Thank You that judgment was placed on Christ at the cross,
and that today You offer forgiveness, peace, and reconciliation freely.
Help us to understand Your Word rightly divided,
to preach grace boldly,
and to walk as ambassadors of reconciliation in a confused world.
Use our lives to point others to Christ
while this day of salvation remains.
In His finished work we rest,
and in Jesus name we pray. Amen.
