Preaching Christ According To The Mystery

Written by Ralph Mark B. Malinao

— and Why It Changes Everything About Understanding Your Bible

Every time we open God’s Word together, something powerful happens—not because of religion, tradition, or ceremonies, but because the Spirit of God uses His written Word to teach, correct, and build us up (2 Timothy 3:16).

Our purpose is simple: to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and help you understand the Bible in a way that actually makes sense—so you can study it on your own and watch it work personally in your life (1 Thessalonians 2:13).

Religion Cannot Give You a Relationship With God

Many people think you need “church membership,” rituals, sacraments, or religious performances to connect with God. But Scripture presents something radically different:

God wrote a Book. And He expects you to understand it.

You don’t need a priest or a system to interpret it for you.
You just need to study it God’s way.

The Bible Must Be Read According to God’s Own Instructions

Just like you wouldn’t read a dictionary the way you read a novel, you also cannot read the Bible any way you want and expect to understand it.

God gave a method:
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God… rightly dividing the word of truth.” — 2 Timothy 2:15

Right division isn’t a denomination.
It’s God’s command for Bible study.
It simply means recognizing the differences God Himself placed in His Word—differences in audience, program, promises, and purpose.

The Bible Divides Human History Into Distinct Programs

Paul gives us the simplest outline in Ephesians 2:

1. Time Past — God’s dealings centered on Israel
(Ephesians 2:11–12)

Back then, God saw the world in two groups:
• The circumcision → Israel
• The uncircumcision → Gentiles

Israel had:
• Covenants
• Promises
• The law
• The earthly Kingdom program
• The Messiah sent to them (Matthew 15:24, Romans 15:8)

Gentiles were “aliens… strangers… without hope… without God.”

That’s not your situation today—but it was reality in Time Past.

2. But Now — God’s program through Paul for the Body of Christ
(Ephesians 2:13–22)

After Israel rejected her Messiah and resisted the Holy Spirit (Acts 7), something unexpected happened:

👉God temporarily set Israel aside. (Romans 11:11–15, 25)

Then the risen Christ reached down into human history and saved Saul of Tarsus (Acts 9), giving him a message never revealed before:

“The revelation of the mystery…”
“…kept secret since the world began.” — Romans 16:25

This new program introduced:
• A new agency → the Body of Christ
• A new apostle → Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles (Romans 11:13)
• A new dispensation → the dispensation of grace (Ephesians 3:2)
• A new identity → neither Jew nor Gentile (Galatians 3:27–28)
• A new destiny → the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3)

3. Ages to Come — Israel’s prophetic kingdom will be fulfilled
(Ephesians 2:7, Acts 3:19–21)

God will return to Israel after the Body of Christ is caught up (1 Thessalonians 4:13–18).

Prophecy will resume exactly as promised. The Bible fits perfectly when we let it say what it says to whom it says it.

Prophecy vs. Mystery — God Wants You to See the Difference

Peter said Israel’s program was:
“spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.” — Acts 3:21

Paul’s message was:
“kept secret since the world began.” — Romans 16:25

They cannot be the same program.

One was known.
One was hidden.
Both are Scripture.
Both are true.
But they are different—and your Bible becomes clear only when you stop mixing them.

Your Salvation Message Must Come From the Right Program

Look at the difference:

Peter’s gospel to Israel (Acts 2:38):
➡️ Repent
➡ Be baptized
➡ For the remission of sins
➡ Receive the Holy Ghost

Paul’s gospel to us today (Acts 16:31; Romans 3–5):
➡ Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ
➡ And you are saved—instantly, completely, eternally

No water.
No ceremonies.
No conditions.
Just faith in Christ’s finished crosswork.

Same Christ.
Different instructions.
Different audience.
Different program.
Right division solves the confusion.

So Why Does This Matter Today?

Because understanding God’s Word the way He designed it:

✔ Gives clarity instead of confusion
✔ Builds your faith on certainty, not feelings ✔ Sets you free from religious pressure and performance
✔ Lets Scripture work effectually in you (1 Thessalonians 2:13)
✔ Helps you walk in your true identity in Christ
✔ Unlocks the power of God’s grace in daily life

God wants all people to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4).
And once saved, He wants us to understand the truth— rightly divided, clearly taught, and lived out through His grace.

If you want to understand the Bible and see God’s Word come alive in your daily walk, it starts with one key:

👉 Study it the way God said—rightly divided.
👉 Believe what God says to you through Paul.
👉 Rest in the finished work of Christ.

That’s where clarity begins.
That’s where assurance grows.
That’s where transformation happens.
