What if the greatest evidence that God is doing something different today is not merely what He is saying—but what He is withholding?
The Bible says:
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men…”
— Romans 1:18
God’s wrath is real.
God’s judgment is real.
God will judge sin.
But when we rightly divide the Word of truth, we discover something remarkable about the present Dispensation of Grace.
God’s wrath is revealed—but His grace is being extended.
That distinction matters.
▪️WRATH IS REAL
Throughout Scripture, God’s prophetic program anticipated divine judgment.
Israel was warned repeatedly about the consequences of rebellion and unbelief.
The prophets spoke of a coming day of the LORD, tribulation, judgment, and ultimately the establishment of Christ’s kingdom upon the earth.
Israel’s prophetic program included both judgment and kingdom blessing.
But then God revealed something that had been kept secret.
The prophetic program was interrupted.
Israel was temporarily set aside.
And God began doing something completely different through the revelation given to Paul.
▪️GRACE IS BEING EXTENDED
Paul tells us:
“But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested…”
— Romans 3:21
And then:
“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”
— Romans 3:24
This is grace.
Not because sin isn’t serious.
Not because God has stopped caring about righteousness.
But because Jesus Christ already paid the price for sin at Calvary.
The wrath that sinners deserve does not have to be their final destiny.
Why?
Because Christ died for our sins.
“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:3–4
That is the Gospel of Grace.
▪️PAUL AND THE PRESENT DISPENSATION
Paul identifies himself as:
“the apostle of the Gentiles”
— Romans 11:13
And he explains that he received a special stewardship:
“the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward.”
— Ephesians 3:2
God is not currently establishing Israel’s earthly kingdom.
He is forming the Body of Christ.
He is calling out a people whose blessings and calling are heavenly.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”
— Ephesians 1:3
This is why we must distinguish:
• Prophecy from Mystery.
• Israel from the Body of Christ.
• Law from Grace.
• Earthly promises from heavenly blessings.
• Israel’s prophetic program from Paul’s Mystery revelation.
▪️GRACE DOES NOT MEAN GOD HAS STOPPED JUDGING SIN
This is an important clarification.
The present age of grace does not mean God has become indifferent toward sin.
Romans 1:18 still declares that God’s wrath is revealed.
But God’s present response toward lost humanity is wonderfully patient.
Paul writes:
“Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
— 1 Timothy 2:4
And God’s grace is being extended to all.
No nation has to become Israel.
No sinner has to enter Israel’s covenant.
No sinner has to perform Israel’s kingdom requirements.
The invitation is universal:
Believe the Gospel.
Trust Christ.
Rest in His finished work.
▪️FROM CONDEMNATION TO JUSTIFICATION
The natural condition of humanity is condemnation.
We are sinners.
We cannot save ourselves.
Our works cannot remove our guilt.
Religion cannot erase our sin.
But God’s grace provides what we could never provide ourselves.
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
— Romans 5:1
Think about that.
Peace with God.
Not because you performed perfectly.
Not because you kept the Law.
Not because you became worthy.
Because of Jesus Christ.
That is why grace is so amazing.
The same God whose wrath is revealed against sin has provided complete justification through His Son.
▪️DON’T MIX WRATH WITH YOUR WALK UNDER GRACE
One of the greatest problems in Christianity is allowing passages concerning Israel’s prophetic program to dictate our identity and standing today.
When Law and Grace are mixed, believers begin living in fear.
“Will God bless me if I obey enough?”
“Will God punish me if I fail?”
“Have I done enough to remain accepted?”
But Paul’s message directs our attention away from our performance and toward Christ.
“To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.”
— Ephesians 1:6
Accepted.
Already.
In the Beloved.
That’s grace.
▪️GRACE IS NOT A LICENSE TO SIN
Grace does not tell us that sin doesn’t matter.
Grace teaches us something far greater.
It teaches us that Christ has already dealt with the sin question for everyone who trusts Him.
And grace changes how we live.
“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us…”
— Titus 2:11–12
Grace teaches.
Grace transforms.
Grace motivates.
Grace produces gratitude.
We don’t serve God to become accepted.
We serve God because we are accepted.
We don’t work to earn salvation.
We work because salvation has already been freely given.
▪️THE MESSAGE FOR TODAY
The world deserves God’s wrath.
But God is extending His grace.
The issue is not whether Christ paid for sin.
He did.
The issue is whether you will trust Him.
“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.”
— Romans 4:5
No performance.
No religious achievement.
No attempt to make yourself worthy.
Believe.
Christ died.
Christ was buried.
Christ rose again.
And His finished work is completely sufficient.
So while God’s wrath is real, don’t reject the grace He is extending today.
While the prophetic program will ultimately move toward judgment and kingdom fulfillment, today God is forming the Body of Christ according to the revelation of the Mystery.
Today is the day of grace.
Today the Gospel is being preached.
Today reconciliation is being offered.
Today sinners can be justified freely.
And today, the invitation still stands:
Trust Christ.
Believe the Gospel.
Rest in His finished work.
Receive the riches of His grace.
Wrath is real.
Judgment is coming.
But grace is being extended today.
And for everyone who trusts Christ alone, there is no need to fear condemnation.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.”
— Romans 8:1
Don’t run from God in fear.
Run to Christ in faith.
His grace is greater than your sin, His cross is sufficient, and your position in Christ is secure.
